50-Seat Embraer EMB-145 to Replace Old Turboprop Planes

  1. Rolled out in late 1995, the Embraer EMB-145 jets will replace the turboprop aircraft currently used at the East Texas Regional Airport. The Embraer EMB-145 jets were specifically designed by Embraer to take the place of smaller turbo aircraft.

The Embraer EMB-145 travels 70 knots faster than the turboprop aircraft and has a nautical range of 800 miles. This will allow passengers flying from East Texas Regional Airport to arrive faster at DFW Airport.

The new regional jets come with amenities passengers will find appealing, including more stand-up room in the cabin area and 9.5 feet of overhead baggage space for each passenger. Embraer planes are flown in five continents and are well-known for their standards in comfort and reliability. The new regional jets will be used starting September 3, 2008, as stated by the American Eagle Airlines’ plans.
